Virtuoso guitarist and creator of Groove Picking, Sébastien Hogge has developed a unique approach to acoustic guitar—percussive, organic, and deeply expressive. Drawing inspiration from the roots of blues, folk, jazz, and soul, his playing transcends genres, turning the guitar into a living orchestra where groove, sensitivity, and virtuosity merge seamlessly.
His new album, Pick’n Roots (released October 10, 2025), features 14 original compositions full of nuance, sonic balance, and emotion. Each track is a journey, an immersion into a timeless musical America, reimagined with contemporary energy.
Self-taught from the age of 13, he later studied jazz guitar at the Conservatory of Maastricht. With over 100,000 monthly Spotify listeners and more than a hundred concerts across Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands, he has established himself as a rising figure in the European fingerstyle scene.
On stage, Sébastien fully embodies the spirit of Groove Picking: a refined, groovy, and vibrant style capable of transporting audiences from Kentucky to Detroit, from the Mississippi Delta to New Orleans. A true showman, he combines virtuosity with relaxed stage presence, energy with Liègeois humor, creating a warm, immersive, and authentic atmosphere.
He has self-produced three solo albums and one with his quartet, and shared the stage with Rodrigo y Gabriela and Manu Chao (with Los Pinchos Trio). Today, he also shares his passion through his own school, Passion Guitar School.

The Hogge-Iannello Duo brings together Sébastien Hogge, virtuoso guitarist and creator of Groove Picking, and Joachim Iannello, a fiery violinist whose playing blends classical mastery with jazz improvisation. Sébastien contributes his percussive, groovy, and expressive guitar, rooted in blues, folk, jazz, and soul. Joachim responds with a violin of raw energy and dazzling virtuosity, effortlessly moving from lyrical classical passages to bold, spontaneous improvisation.
